Summary:The Industrial Engineering Intern supports manufacturing improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost by assisting with data analysis, process observations, and continuous improvement activities across plant operations.Key Responsibilities:Assist in collecting and analyzing production, labor, and process data to help improve workflow, efficiency, and resource utilization.Observe manufacturing operations and help document current processes, work balance, and sequence of operations.Participate in waste elimination and continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles. Assist with documenting process changes and improvement ideas.Assist with time studies, motion analysis, and standardized work reviews.Assist manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams with technical and analytical support for day-to-day operational issues.Support plant layout activities using AutoCAD.Role Focus for an Intern:Learn manufacturing systems, plant workflows, and industrial engineering methods in a hands-on production environment.Build practical experience in lean tools, data analysis, standardized work, and continuous improvement.Support experienced engineers and cross-functional teams while developing problem-solving and communication skills.Skills:Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and manage one's time.Ability to accurately document customer information.Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and AutoCAD.Education/Experience:High school diploma or GED required.0-2 years related experience required.
