The Legal Consultant serves as a liaison to in-house counsel, outside counsel and associates of the enterprise. This role leads and manages multiple projects within the department that span across all internal business lines. The Consultant partners with key stakeholders to ensure each project is following the Enterprise’s various policies, procedures and internal controls. The Legal Consultant is tasked with optimizing workflows and improving operational effectiveness of the department by streamlining processes and procedures. 

What you will do:

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and hold a high standard of integrity while navigating stakeholders' commitments and requests aligned to the needs of the business and in house counsel.
  • Assist in the draft, review and negotiation of a variety of complex documents with associates, vendors and other business partners.
  • Work collaboratively with business-line leadership and associates.
  • Create effective team environment.
  • Learn and own certain regulatory filings for the Enterprise.
  • Collaborate consistently with in-house counsel.
  • Provide general office administrative services.
  • Create and review expense reports and process invoices.

What you will need:

  • College degree recommended
    • High School Diploma required, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • ABA approved Paralegal Certificate recommended
  • Minimum 3 years legal experience in a law firm or legal department corporation setting as a Paralegal
  • Ability to meet company objectives 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into business-friendly advice
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Salary Grade: 5A

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team building and collaboration.
