Position Overview:
We seek a motivated and organized Paralegal to join our team for in-house Counsel at Dieterich & Kelly Legal Group. The role involves providing high-quality administrative and legal support to our in-house counsel, ensuring the protection of our policy holder and the company's legal interests.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and maintain case files, request necessary documents, and keep cases well-organized
  • Manage and review the legal calendar, meet deadlines, document actions and input information into the file database.
  • Draft legal documents and standard letter and assist with drafting pleadings, drafting responses, drafting motions, and order to file with the court, scheduling depositions, mediations, hearings, and electronic filings.
  • Interface with clients, claims adjusters, court clerks, and court reporters.
  • Review, document, and distribute mail and e-mails as necessary.
  • Required knowledge of the litigation process including opening new files, answering discovery, filing motions and pleadings, maintaining and scheduling appointments, and assist in trial preparation.

Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills:
  • Energetic, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Professional appearance and pleasant personality.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant
  • Must be proficient with the State E-Filing system
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the civil litigation process and rules
  • Computer literacy is essential
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are a plus
