Job Description:

Come join the team at Cornhusker State Industries (CSI)! We provide workforce training and development to nearly 500 incarcerated men and women. CSI is a financially self-supported program of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). We're seeking a candidate to manage moderately complex financial transactions and reporting for CSI. This role operates with general supervision and may involve leading inmate support staff.

Job duties

  • Prepare and enter inmate work hours into the Corrections Inmate Payroll System (CIPS).
  • Assist with and coordinate PIECP inmate payrolls (federal inmate work program).
  • Prepare and input laundry billing and contracts.
  • Prepare and code CSI utilities for entry into the E1 Accounts Payable system.
  • Prepare Inventory Traveler Transactions, e-filing, and attachments to the E1 System.
  • Assist with CSI purchasing duties, including filing, scanning, and E1 attachments.
  • Complete reconciliations as needed.
  • Perform other CSI business office or CSI purchasing duties as required.

Requirements/ Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in business administration/management, information systems, finance, economics, mathematics, international business, or sales and marketing. Experience in double entry accounting, clerical accounting methods, Microsoft programs specifically Excel.

Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly unannounced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
