Job Summary
The Accountant prepares, analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods.
Requirements
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required. Employees within the accounting/finance function of the Enterprise who are actively enrolled in an accredited collegiate program in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance will be considered once they successfully complete Intermediate Accounting I & II.
EXPERIENCE
Prior accounting experience desirable.

Responsibilities
• Assists with financial reporting audits, working with the internal audits, Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.• May assists in special projects, as directed.• May be required to analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.• Performs general accounting functions, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounting analysis and reconciliation.• Performs other duties as assigned.• Prepares supporting financial data as required.• Reconciles, confirms and maintains general ledger accounts.
