Job description

Integration Engineer
Location: Overland Park, KS
Type: Full-TimeSalary: $60,000 - $90,000 / year
Company: DataMap
Client Work: www.datamap.ai/client-experience
Here's how our process works. Apply and you'll get a nine minute TestGorilla assessment. That's the entire first round. Everyone who scores well gets an interview, every time. No resume black hole, no three weeks of silence.
Why Join DataMap?
Ready to find out how far you can actually go?
DataMap is an AI first company. Every engineer here works with AI in the loop, and it changes the math on what one person can deliver. Work that used to take a team of five now takes one engineer who knows how to direct the tools. We put that leverage in your hands early and expect you to use it. A growing share of what we deliver has AI at the center of it rather than bolted on the side, and the enterprises we work with are still trying to figure out what that means for how they run. We are the ones they call.
We build and implement financial and operations software for some of the largest companies in the world, including Google. We're a Microsoft, Coupa, Boomi, SAP and Oracle partner, and most of our work sits where business process meets system design.
Most entry level engineering jobs hand you a ticket queue and a five year wait for anything interesting. This is not one of those. The engineers starting with us now will spend the next decade building things that don't have a name yet. If you like figuring out how to make systems talk to each other, and you'd rather learn that on real client projects than in a training sandbox, this is where you find your ceiling.
Role Overview
The Integration Engineer builds and supports the middleware and custom applications that connect our clients' systems. Day to day that means Boomi, Workato, TypeScript and Azure, moving data between platforms like Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, Workday and Dynamics 365.
Not all of it is middleware. A good portion of our work is custom web applications: supplier portals, approval dashboards, reporting front ends, internal tools. Those are built in TypeScript and React and hosted on Azure. You'll move between the two kinds of work rather than being boxed into one.
You'll start with well scoped assignments alongside a senior engineer and take on more as you learn the patterns. Client exposure comes early. Our engineers sit in the requirements meetings instead of picking up tickets three handoffs later.
Key Responsibilities
Recent graduates and early career developers
  • Build integration processes in Boomi AtomSphere and Workato with guidance from senior engineers
  • Write transformation logic, data mappings and validation rules
  • Develop scripts and small services in TypeScript and Node.js
  • Build React components and screens for client portals and internal tools
  • Work with REST and SOAP APIs, webhooks, and file formats like JSON, XML and CSV
  • Support deployments across dev, test and production
  • Monitor running integrations, triage failures, and escalate with useful diagnostic detail
  • Write interface specs, data mapping documents and runbooks
  • Support testing cycles, including unit testing, SIT and UAT
Candidates with 2+ years of experience
  • Own individual integrations from technical design through go-live
  • Build reusable connectors, error handling and reconciliation reporting
  • Develop full stack features across React front ends and Node APIs, including auth, forms and responsive layouts
  • Deploy and maintain components on Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, App Service, Static Web Apps, Key Vault)
  • Implement authentication against client systems using OAuth 2.0, API keys or certificates
  • Troubleshoot production issues and fix the cause rather than the symptom
  • Work with functional consultants to turn business requirements into technical designs
  • Take part in code reviews and help improve our shared libraries and standards
Growth and Career Path
We promote from within, and quickly for people who earn it. Integration Engineers here typically move toward:
  • Senior Integration Engineer, owning architecture for enterprise integrations
  • Principal Integration Engineer, setting technical direction across the practice
  • Solution Architect, designing full technical architecture for transformation programs
  • Technical Lead, running development teams across several client engagements
Qualifications
Recent graduates and early career developers
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Working proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java or C#
  • Understanding of APIs, HTTP, webhooks and common data formats
  • Some exposure to modern web development, whether through coursework, an internship or personal projects
  • Basic SQL and comfort querying and reconciling data
  • Good analytical and debugging instincts
  • Clear writing. Our engineers produce documentation that clients read.
Candidates with 2+ years of experience
  • Hands-on development experience with an iPaaS platform such as Boomi, Workato, MuleSoft or Azure Integration Services
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with comfort in Git and modern tooling
  • Experience building web applications in React, ideally with Next.js
  • Working knowledge of Azure, or AWS/GCP with willingness to move to Azure
  • Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs and webhooks, including authentication flows
  • Familiarity with ERP or business system integrations (Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Dynamics, Salesforce)
  • Experience supporting production systems and diagnosing live issues
  • Boomi or Workato certification, or willingness to get one
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and performance based bonuses
  • Unlimited vacation and a flexible work environment
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Health insurance with generous employer contribution
  • Mentorship and career development
Why Apply?
You'll build integrations and applications that run at enterprise scale for Fortune 500 clients, work across a varied stack instead of one legacy system, and get real client exposure and mentorship from the start.
Apply today. If you don't meet every requirement, apply anyway. We'd rather hear from people who are eager to learn.
