Job description

Highway Motors, Inc. is a family-owned, authorized dealer for International trucks and Idealease Lease & Rental services that has served western and central Virginia for over 90 years. We are currently seeking an entry-level technician with our Idealease fleet shop. This position will be full-time, from 8:30-5:00 with a 30-minute lunch break. You will have occasional unscheduled overtime, and you will receive our full benefit package- health, dental, and life insurance; 401k with partial match; and paid time off after three months.

Basic duties of the job will include pre-delivery inspections of new trucks, basic maintenance and light repair on lease and rental trucks, checking in rental trucks, washing and cleaning rental trucks or used trucks, and preparing used trucks for sale. While this position is entry-level, we will provide extensive training where possible and we hope to offer you opportunities for advancement both within the Idealease shop and within our three full-service dealerships. We typically offer incremental raises outside of the yearly review period for obtaining a CDL, state inspection license, completing training modules, etc. and will pay for most online training done away from the shop (if not done during PTO).

Responsibilities
  • Preventive maintenance and minor repairs on our 130+ truck Idealease lease and rental fleet
  • Pre-delivery inspection of new trucks
  • Check-in of rental trucks after being returned by customers
  • Washing and cleaning of Idealease trucks
  • Preparing out-of-service Idealease trucks for sale or disposal
  • Preparing non-Idealease used trucks for sale
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Some heavy truck dealership or diesel fleet experience preferred, but not required
  • CDL or state inspection license preferred, but not required
  • Self-motivated and able to work well as part of a small team
  • Ability to easily work within different web portals, online "e-forms," etc.
