Job Summary:
Diverse Lynx is seeking an AS400 Synon Application Support Engineer to provide L2/L3 production support for AS400-based applications. The role involves incident analysis, bug fixes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Provide L2/L3 production support for AS400-based applications.
• Perform incident analysis, root cause identification, and resolution.
• Work on bug fixes, minor enhancements, and code deployments
• Monitor batch jobs, interfaces, and system performance.
• Support data corrections and production issue troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, QA, DevOps)
• Ensure adherence to change management and release processes.
• Handle on-call support and critical production issues
• Maintain documentation, knowledge base, and support runbooks.
• Participate in continuous improvement and system stability initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong hands-on experience in: COBOL, RPG (RPG III / RPG IV), CLLE
• DB2/400 (DB2400)
• SQL Programming
• SYNON / CA 2E
• Query/400
• Deep knowledge of AS400 (IBM iSeries) architecture and environment
• Experience in application maintenance and production support
• Strong understanding of: job scheduling, batch processing, job queues
• Spool files, debugging, system logs.
• Experience with Change Management tools (preferred: ALDON)
• Good knowledge of FTP processes and protocols for file transfer
• Strong debugging and performance tuning capabilities in legacy systems
Preferred:
• Experience working in RxClaim / PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) domain.
• Familiarity with healthcare systems and claims processing
• Exposure to incident/problem management tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)
• Knowledge of modernization approaches (Mainframe/AS400 to Cloud) is a plus.
