What is an entry level hybrid RN?

An entry level hybrid RN is a registered nurse who is new to the nursing field and works in a hybrid role, combining both in-person and remote responsibilities. This position typically involves tasks such as patient care, telehealth support, and administrative duties. Entry level hybrid RNs often use technology to communicate with patients and healthcare teams, while also providing hands-on care in clinical settings. This role is ideal for new graduates or nurses with limited experience seeking flexibility and exposure to various aspects of nursing.

What can an entry level hybrid RN expect in terms of team collaboration and support while adjusting to both in-person and remote responsibilities?

As an entry-level hybrid RN, you will typically work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, experienced nurses, and allied health professionals. In the hybrid model, you may split your time between direct patient care on-site and remote tasks such as telehealth support, patient education, or case management. Most organizations provide structured onboarding, mentorship, and regular virtual check-ins to ensure new nurses feel supported in both settings. Open communication and collaboration tools are commonly used to stay connected with your team and supervisors, making it easier to seek guidance and share updates as you grow into the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level hybrid RN?

To thrive as an Entry Level Hybrid RN, you need a nursing degree, RN licensure, and foundational clinical care and assessment skills. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), telehealth platforms, and remote monitoring tools is typically expected in hybrid roles.
