Job description

We are hiring an experienced Controls Technician to support the installation, startup, commissioning, and service of commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems. This is a field-based role working on a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with DDC controls, low-voltage systems, and HVAC equipment, and enjoys troubleshooting complex control systems while working closely with project managers, programmers, and field personnel to deliver successful projects.

Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, and troubleshoot building automation and HVAC control systems.
  • Perform controller setup, point-to-point verification, wiring checks, and system startups.
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and project documentation.
  • Install and service DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, and other control devices.
  • Diagnose wiring, communication, programming, and equipment-related issues.
  • Assist with functional testing, system verification, and customer training.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, programmers, contractors, and other field personnel.
  • Complete service reports, startup documentation, and project records accurately.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members throughout project execution.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, or low-voltage control systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and control applications.
  • Experience commissioning or servicing building automation systems is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving controls, wiring, communication networks, and HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with project teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to regional project sites.
