JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST
DEFINITION : The Human Resource Specialist position will assist/perform complex and specialized administrative tasks as part of the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, leave and enforcing company policies and practices This position is responsible for operational and technical personnel duties to include data entry for all personnel changes for payroll, leave and benefits changes.
Education and Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource or related area.
  • At least 2 years' experience in human resources; 3 years combined relevant experience, and education may waive BA requirements; HR certification or a Master's degree may wave experience requirement.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
a) Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
b) Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external job postings.
c) Assists with external recruiting efforts, including maintaining relationships with schools, associations, and other recruiters. Represents the organization at selected job fairs. Assists management with performance concerns, disciplinary action, and conflict management issues.
d) Assist in the organization in the coordination of employee activities, recognition, and events.
e) Reviews applications for entry-level and non-exempt positions; conducts and/or schedules preliminary interviews.
f) Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence. Administering weekly reports and updates.
g) Plans and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
h) Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews
i) Prepares purchase orders for human resource office.
j) Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
k) Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
l) Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
m) Provides clerical support to the HR department.
n) Performs other duties as assigned.
