Job Description:

We are currently seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. This is an entry level HR management position that will work with executive leaders and managers at all levels and cover multiple locations. The Generalist will support a broad range of HR services primarily including employee relations, discipline, staffing, unemployment hearings, and labor relations. Other limited duties may include training, 401k administration, policy and procedure administration and development and EEOC and arbitration preparation and defense.

The ideal candidate must be able to independently manage the life cycle for approximately 1200 employees and investigate workplace incidents and employee concerns daily. Ability to deal with confrontation, time management and communication is vital. Must be organized, detail oriented, dependable, and trustworthy. Must be able to interpret and influence policies/procedures, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.


Essential Duties:

  • Act as the onsite HR representative working with managers and supervisors to address personnel issues and questions.
  • Coordinate and manage staffing for multiple divisions and locations utilizing a staff of HR Assistants.
  • Investigate employee disciplinary cases and issue discipline up to and including terminations
  • Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Complete special projects and prepare reports
  • Act as subject matter expert on HR topics and policies, including 401K, Worker's Compensation, FMLA, ADA, EEO/AA, etc.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, or a related field. Masterโ€™s degree is preferred.
  • Two years of HR experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to multitask, balance priorities and work independently and perform analytical tasks.
  • Ability to apply effective time and self-management skills in a busy work environment and get work done despite regular interruptions.
  • Comfortable routinely handling confidential information responsibly.
  • Able to identify issues to be handled and those that may need to be elevated.
  • Must be detail-oriented and meticulous about ensuring information produced is accurate.
  • Proficient with PCโ€™s and related applications, particularly Excel and Word.
