Custodian I- Utah State Hospital
Do you love to clean and do you want to make a difference in your community? The Utah State Hospital (USH) is seeking a capable, diligent employee to work as an entry-level Custodian. Custodians at USH are responsible for routine cleaning, laundry, and maintenance of our beautiful facility. This position is full-time, (Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm)

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:
  • Sorts soiled linens, washing, drying, folding, and re-stocking clean linens on a daily basis.
  • Cleans and maintains floors, dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture, washes windows, mirrors, and other glass or plastic items, empties trash and garbage, etc.
  • Maintains building(s) and/or facilities in a clean and orderly condition and/or removes snow from sidewalks and doorways, etc.
  • Cleans, sterilizes, and or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
  • Sets up and arranges tables and chairs.

Qualifications
The Minimum Qualifications:
  • Familiar with basic housekeeping practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the position, which includes, but is not limited to repetitive and continuous walking, standing, crouching, lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable using cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment.

The Preferred Qualifications:
  • Able to closely follow written or oral instruction and willingly accept training and feedback.
  • Diligent, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Detail oriented when completing assigned cleaning duties.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
