Job description

This Project Manager position supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the area of Support Services. The mission-critical program provides comprehensive training, safety, standards, curriculum development, and technical modernization services to ensure national border security agents can operate safely and effectively.
Behind every successful deliverable is a Project Manager keeping the wheels turning. In this role, you translate the high-level goals of CBP/AMO into daily operational realities, ensuring that critical training and support projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and with absolute precision.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Define & Execute: Build, maintain, and manage detailed project plans, milestones, work breakdown structures, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate Success: Establish priorities, balance workloads, and monitor performance of project staff to ensure deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Communicate Clearly: Brief stakeholders bi-weekly on project health, solicit structured feedback, and pivot workflows based on client needs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all project artifacts and deliverables meet rigorous government and Team Carney standards.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of project management or program coordination experience, preferably supporting federal agencies.
  • Technical Savvy: High proficiency in project management software (MS Project, JIRA, or similar toolsets).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check.
