Job description

Hunt Forest Products in Pollock, LA is seeking to fill various utility positions on the production line. This full-time, entry level position is just the start to a vast and long-term career in manufacturing. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform general clean-up and safety activities including sweeping, trash collection, feeding waste materials into dry hog.
  • Cleaning and painting of equipment and structures.
  • Work well with others in a team environment.
  • Train in various areas of wood production to gain knowledge for future advancement.
  • Follow all company safety rules and PPE use.
  • Follow all company rules and procedures regarding daily work activity.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous work experience that demonstrates the ability to hold employment for significant periods of time (2 years or greater). First time employment seekers are welcome.
  • Must be flexible to work 12-hour shifts that include rotating days/nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment testing and background checks if given a conditional job offer.

Physical and Safety Requirements: (This is a safety sensitive position)

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment that includes heat, cold and noise.
  • Safely operate assigned tools and equipment.
  • Safely maneuver around moving machinery, uneven ground, steps, ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Adherence to consistent hydration schedule.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and have exposure to various weights and sizes of veneer, plywood, lumber, bark and sawdust.
  • Ability to lift over shoulder/head height.
  • Ability to stoop, walk, stand, push, pull, bend, kneel, climb as to demonstrate a range of motion needed to complete assigned work during 12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to hear, read and see directions; instructions and/or signals.
  • Clearly communicate safety issues and concerns as they appear.
