Surface Preparation is the world's leading shoulder rumble strip contractor. We provide both general contracting and subcontracting services on highway construction projects in every state.
We also work with government agencies, highway contractors and consultants around the world in the promotion and development of highway shoulder rumble strip programs.
Surface Preparation designs and manufactures its own line of NoisePrint rumble strip mills, capable of cutting up to 30 miles of asphalt rumble strips in a single eight-hour shift.
Surface Preparation currently operates from eight regional locations in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Indiana, Kansas, South Dakota, South Carolina, Colorado and Utah. Our facilities include more than 50,000 square feet of of office and workshop space on more than 30 acres of property.

Job Description

We are now hiring an entry level crew member with CDL designation to be trained on our specialized milling and broom equipment.

We try to promote entirely from within for our field positions, offering you great growth opportunities!

Our experienced staff will provide ongoing training and support throughout your career. These growth and advancement opportunities are unmatched throughout the industry. 

As a field crew member, you will assist in the installation of shoulder, edge line and center line rumble strips throughout the lower 48 states. Through this work, you ensure the safety of the travelling public, our clients and your family.

On average, our entry level crew members work 40 - 70 hours per week with room and board included when away from your home shop location. SPT currently has locations in PA, IN, TN, KS and WY, but we do work in all of the lower 48 states.

Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License - preferably CDL class "B or C"
  • OSHA 10 certification - will provide if necessary
  • Comfortable working 8-12 hours per day and the ability to lift 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Overnight travel
