Job description

Your Opportunity:

You're a change leader who combines technical and clinical expertise, and you're ready to be an integral part of an award-winning transformational health care program. Health Shared Services Health Corporation (HSS) is seeking someone like you for the role of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Connect Care Credentialed Trainer. This role will facilitate and enable our health information system's (Connect Care) success by training and supporting the clinicians who use the system every day. As a Credentialed Trainer, you will facilitate the required Connect Care training to end users including health care staff, leaders, and students who will use Connect Care's identified applications and workflows in the course of their work. To be successful in this role, you must be proficient and a subject matter expert in your current role and be comfortable with teaching both in person and online/virtual. Using advanced communication skills, a knowledge of adult education theories and concepts, and awareness of organizational change management, you will prepare and present role-based training to a variety of audiences both in a pure virtual format and face to face modality. Please note that this is a hybrid role with expectations that you will be teaching classes virtually from home and in person at designated Connect Care Classrooms. As a Trainer, you will participate in the enhancement and delivery of training for staff in accordance with HSS standards and practices. You will deliver training materials that align with the training framework for various applications and processes. You will follow relevant standards to ensure a consistent approach for all training courses offered. Course delivery methods can include in-person and online facilitation.

You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in using the Connect Care Electronic Medical Record in a clinical setting. Proficient with public speaking to a large group of students, end-users, leaders. Experience with teaching adult learners in a variety of modalities. Working knowledge of clinical workflows. Demonstrated ability to learn new material and adapt to changes. Experience with health care technology and the ability to master new software programs. Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities. Experience working successfully in both collaborative and independent work settings. Experience promoting change processes in a positive, effective manner. Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office tools including Word, SharePoint and the ability to navigate these to access and update documents. Demonstrated ability to use Zoom and navigate large group meetings and classes. Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods with extended computer use.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Connect Care Credentialed Trainer. Experience training Connect Care ILTs/tracks to end-users and students. Demonstrated ability to think systematically, improve quality, realize improved outcomes, and engage others in same. Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, teaching and ability to inspire/build confidence in others. Demonstrated experience in planning, communication, facilitation, and coordination of projects.
