SUMMARY

The Health Care Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Health Center in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This position provides leadership and direction through subordinate supervisors to ensure effective facility management, high-quality resident care, and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversee fiscal operations, including budget planning, accounting, and rate-setting for services.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of qualified department heads, supervisors, consultants, and other personnel.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified quality deficiencies.
  • Negotiate improvements and additions to facility buildings and equipment as needed.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of medical, nursing, administrative, and support service teams.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support effective health care operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the facility at community meetings and promote programs through appropriate media and outreach channels.
  • Serve as Chairperson of the QAPI/Corporate Compliance Committee and support related initiatives.
  • Communicate and interact courteously, tactfully, and professionally with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors, and associates to support a productive and respectful work environment.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure established policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Review resident and family member concerns or complaints and ensure timely follow-up in accordance with facility policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role manages five to seven subordinate supervisors who collectively oversee approximately 100 to 150 employees across Admissions, Nursing, MDS, Navigation/Social Work, Life Enrichment, and Therapy. The Administrator is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Supervisory duties are carried out in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, recognizing and disciplining employees, addressing concerns, and resolving issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or one to three yearsโ€™ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a state of North Carolina Nursing Home Administrator's license. Experience in Medicare/Medicaid preferred. Must be CPR certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures as well as laws regulations and guidelines pertaining to long term care administration.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Exempt position. Full Time Daytime hours, working at least 40 hours per week. Additional hours will be required to meet the business needs of the community.
