Entry Level H1B Cap Exempt information

What is an entry level H1B Cap Exempt job?

Entry level H1B cap exempt jobs are positions offered to foreign workers under the H1B visa category that do not count toward the annual H1B visa cap set by the U.S. government. These jobs are typically with organizations such as universities, non-profit research organizations, or government research institutions. Because they are 'cap exempt,' these employers can hire foreign workers at any time of the year and are not subject to the lottery process. Entry level cap exempt positions are suitable for recent graduates or those with limited work experience.

Familiarity with technical tools, industry software, or research methods relevant to your profession is often required, and some roles may value certifications or training specific to the sector (such as healthcare, academia, or research).
