Facet is a fast-growing energetic civil and structural engineering and environmental consulting firm with six offices in Washington. We are engineers, scientists, arborists, landscape architects, planners, and more, with decades of experience working throughout the PNW and the nation.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and talented entry level Structural Engineer 1 to join our dynamic team. This role will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to design, develop, and implement structural engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with limited experience to gain hands-on experience and grow their career in a supportive and professional environment. This position in located in Seattle, WA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects working in steel, concrete, and mass timber.
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess project requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Perform calculations and analyses to support project designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Internship or co-op experience in a civil or structural engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to structural engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
