Job description

ENTRY LEVEL KITCHEN TEAM MEMBER


GOURMET GORILLA

Our mission is to strive for a sustainable future for our children by providing local and sustainable school meals and healthier eating options.

We currently have an opening for an entry level kitchen position. We are seeking a strong candidate to join our culinary department in a growing food service company specializing in sustainable school meals cooked from scratch.

A successful candidate is one who is motivated and capable of performing a multitude of functions in our fast-paced kitchen environment. This includes working in different teams within the culinary department such as pot washer, cook team, portioning, and packaging. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Large scale batch cooking: Particularly sauces, meats, pasta, and other main entrees
  • Follow cook recipe instructions accurately and in a timely manner

  • Organize kitchen and inventory
  • Assist where needed in the kitchen production

  • Wash cooking ware, pots, and pans.

  • Committed to being punctual, adhering to the time and attendance policy


REQUIREMENTS

  • Comfortable working your full shift in a fast pace environment

  • Production kitchen or commissary kitchen experience highly preferred

  • Food safety and sanitation knowledge

  • Flexible and committed to working in different teams

  • Positive attitude

  • Ability to lift 50lbs


JOB DETAILS

  • Monday - Friday; Start/End Time TBD

  • Start: Immediately

  • Pay Rate: $17.05 per hour
