Position Overview
Roux is looking to add an entry level GIS and Database Analyst to assist the GIS and Database manager with management of environmental, chemical, and engineering data for analyses and for the evaluation, generation, and presentation of data. ESRI ArcGIS (ArcPro) experience is required at an intermediate to advanced level. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, those outlined below. Candidate is expected to work from the Oakland, CA office three days per week at minimum.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant coursework applicable to ArcGIS.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High initiative, good interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight schedules.
  • ArcGIS (ArcPro) experience is required at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Experience building both Field Maps and Webmaps in ArcGIS Online (AGOL) is preferred.
  • Proficiency using MS Excel to manipulate and organize data sets for import into a GIS-ready file or database and for final reporting.
  • Database experience is not required, but familiarity with MS Access or SQL is a plus.

Essential Duties
  • Prepare report-quality figures in ArcGIS.
  • Prepare Field Maps and Webmaps in AGOL.
  • Research and obtain state and federal geospatial data as needed to complete assignments or at the direction of the GIS and Database Manager.
  • Research state and federal reporting requirements to ensure compliance of electronic deliverables with the appropriate regulation.
  • Digitize field data at the direction of staff personnel for inclusion in geodatabase and for use in figures prepared in ArcGIS.
  • Perform data management tasks at the direction of the GIS and Database Manager.
  • Prepare basic tables for data analysis using MS Access and/or MS Excel.
  • Manage Electronic Data Deliverables consistent with state requirements.
  • Provide technical support to project staff to complete assignments within tight schedules and on-budget.
  • Provide reporting support by generating and formatting figures, tables, charts, and graphs.

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000. This salary range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. In addition, this position is eligible for performance bonuses based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
