Job description

Job Title: Forensic Psychologist
Location: Chattanooga, TN/On-Site
Duration: 9+ Months
Education and Experience: Possession of a doctorate in psychology from an accredited university.
Other Requirements: Licensure or temporary permit as a psychologist with the State of Tennessee is required. Certification by TDMHSAS's Division of Planning, Research, and Forensics to perform forensic evaluations is required and must be renewed every two fiscal years.
Job Overview: Under direction, this employee is responsible for performing court ordered forensic evaluations including competency to stand trial, mental status at the time of alleged offense, diminished capacity, and commitability. Will document contacts in the medical record and will submit forensic conference reports to the court in the designated time frame. Will complete appropriate risk assessment instruments and psychological assessments as needed. Will evaluate commitability and complete Certificates of Need for involuntary care and treatment as needed. Patients adjudicated as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity will be seen regularly and contacts will be documented. This employee may be subpoenaed to testify in court regarding findings of the forensic evaluation.
