Overview

Focused Staffing Group is seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Science Teacher to deliver engaging, rigorous, and inquiry-based instruction to students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will inspire learners through hands-on labs, scientific exploration, and cross-disciplinary connections aligned with Pennsylvania's STEELS standards. This role requires a teacher who can create a safe, inclusive, and innovative learning environment that supports both academic growth and critical thinking.
Responsibilities

  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, or Environmental Science.
  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons and labs.
  • Differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
  • Administer assessments and use data to guide instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare students for Keystone Exams.
  • Support a positive, safe classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in meetings and professional development.
  • Ensure proper lab safety, chemical handling, and inventory management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certificate in at least one of the following areas:
    • Biology 7-12
    • Chemistry 7-12
    • General Science 7-12
    • Physics 7-12
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field
  • Strong content knowledge and experience with inquiry-based science instruction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and educational technology tools
