Position Overview: The Product Development Specialist will be responsible for learning and driving the development of new Ready-to-Mix (RTM) and Capsule nutraceutical products from concept through to market launch. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to quote, design, formulate, and test new products, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and align with market trends and customer needs. This position will be exposed to some of the biggest dietary supplement brands in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulation Development: Work with R&D teams to quote, create and optimize formulations, ensuring efficacy, stability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee the product development lifecycle for developed products, including planning, execution, and timelines. Coordinate with internal teams such as sales, regulatory, quality, and operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet customer requirements and regulatory standards and guidelines, including labeling, claims, and ingredient safety.
  • Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source ingredients, packaging, and other materials required for product development.
  • Testing and Evaluation: Prepare, flavor, and adjust prototypes using customer feedback, internal evaluations, and sensory insights. Analyze and interpret test results to guide formulation adjustments.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of product development processes and commercialization, including formulation data, test results, and regulatory documentation. Prepare and present reports to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, quality, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure product development aligns with the strategic goals and needs of customers.
  • Project & System Support: Update project status using the Odoo project management system and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Use the Deacom ERP system to search part numbers, check raw material costs, BOMs, vendors, MOQ, and pack sizes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years in the Life Sciences industry with Product Developments in Dietary Supplements preferred.
  • Familiarity with formulation basics, bench testing (e.g., pH, density), and prototype preparation.
  • Understanding of nutraceutical formulation, regulatory requirements, and quality control preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with urgency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and product development software tools.

  • Occasionally subjected to normal warehouse and production environment.
  • May be subjected to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, powders, dust, and other particles.
