To thrive as an Entry Level FIFO Mining Worker, you typically need a high school diploma, good physical fitness, and the ability to follow safety protocols. Familiarity with mining equipment, basic first aid certification, and understanding of site safety systems are often required. Workers are flown to and from the mine site, where accommodation and meals are typically provided. Common entry-level roles include utility worker, kitchen hand, general laborer, or trainee operator. Part of the Appalachian Regional Healthcare system, Hazard ARH Medical Center supports approximately 300 annual births, maintaining low C-section and episiotomy rates. In 2026, the facility opened six state-of-the-art birthing suites and is continuing to invest heavily in maternity care. A Level II NICU has been available at Hazard ARH since its opening.

Located in Prestonsburg, KY, Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center delivers nearly 500 babies and performs almost 400 GYN surgeries annually, supported by 24/7 anesthesia and a Level 2 NICU. OB/GYNs thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with strong support across multiple departments. The clinic is conveniently located across the street from the hospital, and the facility includes 6 LDRs, 2 dedicated cesarean section ORs, and continuous general surgery coverage.
