The Certified Orthotic Fitter plays a vital role within the Orthotic Department, responsible for assessing patients and fitting orthotic devices to improve mobility and comfort. Reporting to the Clinic Manager, this position requires precise measurement, device adjustment, and patient education. The role involves regular travel between clinics and occasional visits to patient sites to ensure optimal device fitting and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine orthotic needs
- Fit and adjust orthotic devices to ensure comfort and functionality
- Take accurate measurements for custom device fabrication
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatments
- Manage orthotic inventory and ensure compliance with regulations
- Educate patients on proper use and care of orthotic devices
- Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform quality control checks on orthotic devices
- Interact with customers to provide excellent service and address concerns
Required Qualifications
- Certified Orthotic Fitter (COF) certification; certification costs covered if not currently certified
