Description

The Estimator is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute his/her experience and expertise in the area of estimating. The Estimator prepares quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications and provides support and assistance to his coworkers in a team environment.


Task & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications
  • Lay out of fire protection systems, including but not limited to: sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pump and special fire suppression systems in accordance with codes.
  • Produce a quantity take off list of material, labour and other construction factors to produce a cost estimate.
  • Preparation of a detailed quotation letter to send to customer(s) in a competitive situation.
  • Communication with General Contractors, Engineers, Architects and Owners.
  • Complete site visits to determine existing conditions
  • Meet with clients and build customer relationships


Qualifications:

  • Well versed in sprinkler system design
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the field
  • Educational background in Fire Protection or similar field is an asset
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant and applicable Ontario codes and NFPA
  • Superior math and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A proven track record of working well within a team
  • The desire/passion to learn and hone your skill-set
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • A dedicated work ethic
  • A valid drivers license
