Position Summary:
The Survey Support is responsible for performing basic task under the guidance and supervision of a manager.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Support the operator and locator with wire breaks
  • Lay out road leads to road crossings
  • Maintain proper communication with other crewmembers for problems
  • Help with checking calibration and cleaning of poles
  • Ensuring the job site is clean
  • Gather materials for workers to handle on job sites.
  • Assist skilled laborer.
  • Follow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times.
  • Actively participates in JSA and uses all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensures the safety of others working in the area.
  • Communicates with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Cleaning.
  • Helping.
  • Assisting Skilled Laborer.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to adhere to a written method or procedure.
  • Confidence to STOP work when a problem is immediately identified.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, including email.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Management Responsibilities:
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications):
  • High School diploma or GED, and three to six months related experience and/ or training preferred.
  • Six months experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Current Driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Gathering materials for workers to handle on job sites.

Environmental/Working Conditions:
  • Ability to travel up to 85% of the time.
  • Production shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours per day.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit/stand for long periods of time; routinely walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must be able to lift push, pull and/or move more than 100 pounds frequently.
  • The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Other Considerations/Requirements:
  • Production shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours per day.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally on short notice, and for extended periods of time.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to rent vehicles to support inspection needs.
  • This position requires overtime/weekend/off-hours and very frequent domestic and international travelling.
