Job description

Engineer position: B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required. PE license preferred, not required.

Candidate must have knowledge in the following:

  • Fluid Dynamics: Understanding head loss, discharge coefficients, and the orifice equation to manage water pressure and flow.
  • Structural Mechanics: Knowing how steel, reinforced concrete, and composite panels handle extreme hydrostatic loads.
  • Mechanical Actuation: Designing or selecting lifting systems, including screw stems, gears, and hydraulic or electric actuators.
  • Industry Standards: Applying guidelines like AWWA C501 for water/wastewater control gates or U.S. Bureau of Reclamation manuals. AWWA C561.
