Job description

10-Month Position

Commences September 2026 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach and supervise students at different levels, both in academic and performance skills, to prepare them for either college or entry-level work in the turf management field. Students will learn different practices of sports field management including golf courses. Students will learn different equipment uses to maintain fields and learn to maintain that equipment.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NYS Certification in Agriculture or Plant Science; OR
  • Associates degree in Plant Science or higher and two years of experience in the plant science industry involving growing, production, culture, care and maintenance of food, fiber, ornamental, forest and/or aquatic plant life. Experience may include, but not limited to: horticulture, aquaculture, landscape management, and planning; OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and four years experience as stated above.
