Key Responsibilities:
Division Leadership & Operations
  • Lead the Environmental Division, overseeing operations, project delivery, staffing, and financial performance on Environmental Division led and multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Develop and execute the annual division business plan, including revenue, utilization, and profitability targets. Plan strategically for long term growth.
  • Collaborate with other engineering discipline leaders to support integrated, multi-disciplinary project delivery
  • Oversee resource planning, workload forecasting, and cross-functional team coordination
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies

Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across public and private sector clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, particularly for projects requiring environmental and engineering integration
  • Partner with other division leaders to position the firm for large, complex, multi-disciplinary pursuits
  • Lead proposal strategies, including go/no-go decisions, teaming, and value positioning
  • Represent the firm at industry events, technical conferences, and professional associations

Project Leadership & Technical Integration
  • Provide technical leadership across MJ on environmental issues.
  • Serve as Project Principal/Manager on key environmental and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Provide strategic oversight for environmental permitting, compliance, and impact assessments within engineering projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical and regulatory standards
  • Support technical teams in resolving complex environmental and engineering challenges

Financial & Performance Management
  • Manage division financial performance, including revenue, project profitability, and overhead
  • Monitor key metrics such as staff utilization, project multiplier, and backlog
  • Oversee contract review, risk management, and accounts receivable performance

Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of environmental professionals within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Collaborate with HR and technical leaders to recruit and retain top talent
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Support professional development and cross-training across engineering disciplines

Innovation & Strategic Growth
  • Drive innovation in environmental services, including sustainable design, resilience, and emerging technologies
  • Identify opportunities to expand environmental services within broader engineering projects
  • Contribute to the firm's long-term strategic planning and market positioning

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in environmental consulting within an engineering environment
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
  • Experience with resiliency projects a plus
