ILS Farm Partnership is looking to add to a staff accountant to their team.ย 

ILS Farm Partnership is a large farming operation located in Barton, Pawnee and Stafford counties.ย  The farm produces a variety of grain and hay crops including wheat, soybeans, corn, alfalfa, and other irrigated and dryland crops.ย  ILS also has an intensive cattle grazing program.ย  ILS takes an aggressive approach on precision farming and using managerial accounting to link financial performance analysis and strategic thinking in its farming operations.

Job Description

Staff Accountant is an entry-level position responsible for assisting the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.ย  This position reports to the Farm Controller.

Essential Job Functions (This job will require, but is not limited to the following duties)

  • Routinely prepare accounting records including recording, reconciling, and maintaining daily transactions in the crop audit, general ledger, and grain or hay inventories
  • Maintaining Excel spreadsheets as part of the accounting records
  • Process accounts payable for multiple companies
  • Assist farm controller with proper record keeping, including data entry and making use of current technologies
  • Monitor grain contracts and reconcile payments to contracts
  • Assist in performing inventory control procedures of farm inputs, and grain and hay inventories
  • Understand weights and measures of farm inputs and crops
  • Maintain minor office housekeeping, and clean and maintain counters and public areas with others in the office
  • Filing of documents, invoices, and organization of work papers
  • Communicate well with others and be willing to work in a team atmosphere
  • Exhibit sound, accurate, and ethical judgement
  • Answer telephone when needed and greet visitors
  • Project a positive attitude to visitors and employees
  • Ensure safety compliance through near miss and unsafe condition reporting and direct communication with the location manager in regards to safety
  • Read, understand, and follow company employee policies
  • Assist with non-routine projects according to specific assignments
  • Perform flexible job duties, while working with multiple entities

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a farm office setting.ย  The role routinely uses standard office equipment.ย  This is largely a sedentary role, however some filing is required.ย  This would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.ย  The office is located near a grain facility, so any dust or grain allergies would have to be tolerated.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.ย  Occasionally, the position may require extended work hours if requested and approved by the farm controller.ย
