This is an entry level position perfect for new grads holding a Bachelors degree. Please note, Masters level candidates are overqualified and encouraged to apply to our Clinical Exercise Physiologist positions instead.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides services for the inpatient population as per location. Provides direct patient care including patient assessment and progression/ adjustment of activity as per RN and/or provider. Collaborates and coordinates early mobility and activities utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach. Coordinates/ collaborates with other rehabilitation departments to ensure timely evaluations and disposition recommendations. Ongoing education in regards to adaptive equipment/lifts and mobilization.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides activity progression for patients in the hospital utilizing patient status and direction from nursing and/or provider .Recognizes contraindications to activity and abnormal patient responses. Provides feedback to medical professionals and physicians as appropriate. (65%)
  • updates patient EMR as directed- including white boards and other tools of communication. (5%)
  • Provides annual/ongoing education regarding mobility/body mechanics/ mechanical lifts and other adaptive equipment. (5%)
  • Collaborate with other rehabilitation service lines to ensure a timely disposition recommendation and implementation of mobility and other appropriate activities. (5%)
  • Assist staff in activity order clarification to ensure patient and staff safety. (5%)
  • Encourage growth and development throughout AGH in regards to early mobility and the role of the Mobility Coordinator/Coach.(5%)
  • Assist in screening patients using the JH- mobility scale and recommending appropriate rehabilitation consults ( PT/OT/CPRehab).(5%)
  • Engage patients / family in their daily activity goals.(5%)
  • Other related duties


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiologist, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or other health related discipline

Preferred

  • Acute patient care

  • CPR - American Heart Association

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
