Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This position serves as a shared engineering resource within the School of Health Professions. The responsibilities include instrumented laboratory environment support hardware and software engineering for specialized measurement equipment data analysis pipeline development (including AI/ML applications) device configuration and troubleshooting and systems documentation.  The position also supports wearable sensor platforms, ambient monitoring devices, AI companion platforms, and planned Epic EHR integration for the Age-Tech program.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (electrical, biomedical, mechanical, computer, or related field) and experience with instrumentation, embedded systems, or research-grade hardware, proficiency in software development and data analysis pipelines, and ability to support laboratory operations across multiple active research programs.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • PhD in engineering or a related field
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in a research context
  • Familiarity with wearable sensors, remote monitoring devices, or clinical research technology platforms
  • Prior work in an academic or clinical research environment supporting externally funded programs
