AI Software Engineer – Enterprise Productivity (MUST BE LOCATED IN HOUSTON)

About PROS:

PROS, Inc. is the leading offer management provider to the airline industry, helping airlines deliver seamless retail experiences designed to maximize revenue and margin growth. By optimizing every customer interaction, PROS helps airlines improve revenue performance and quality, increase commercial agility, attract more customers and build lasting loyalty. Learn more at pros.com.

Day in the Life of the AI Software Engineer:

PROS is building the next generation of enterprise productivity through AI. We're looking for an entry-level AI Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team dedicated to creating AI agents and tools that help our people work faster and smarter.

This is a hands-on builder role. You'll work directly with departments across PROS — from finance to sales to operations — to understand their workflows and turn those needs into working AI solutions. If you're genuinely excited about where AI is going and want to build things that matter to real users every day, this role is for you.

  • Design, build, and deploy AI agents and automation tools for internal users across PROS
  • Partner with non-technical teams to understand pain points and translate them into AI-powered solutions
  • Work with our current AI stack (including Anthropic Claude and Databricks) while staying on top of the latest tools and frameworks as the landscape evolves
  • Iterate quickly based on user feedback — shipping and improving, not perfecting in isolation
  • Document your work and share learnings with the broader team

Required Qualifications - About you:

We care far more about how you think and build than where you went to school or what's on your resume. Strong candidates will demonstrate:

Deep expertise in industry leading RM, pricing, availability, shopping, and merchandising solutions.

Mindset & Drive

  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI development — you build things on your own because you're curious, not because someone assigned it
  • Self-directed learner who picks up new tools and frameworks quickly and doesn't wait to be taught
  • Comfort with ambiguity — you can figure out what needs to be built when the problem isn't perfectly defined
  • Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills when working with non-engineers

Technical Ability

  • Solid programming fundamentals in Python or another language relevant to AI development
  • Hands-on familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, or AI-assisted development workflows
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, or agentic frameworks (even if self-taught)
  • Ability to learn new platforms and APIs quickly

Preferred:

  • Experience with Claude (Anthropic), Databricks, LanfFlow, or similar
  • Built and shipped an AI project — a chatbot, automation, agent, or any tool powered by a language model
  • Contributed to open-source AI projects
  • We value demonstrated technical capability and impact. Candidates are encouraged to share portfolios, GitHub repositories, published work, or examples of AI solutions they have built

AI Fluency & Growth Mindset- We welcome candidates who:

  • Understand core AI concepts and apply them ethically to enhance productivity, insights, and decision-making.
  • Craft effective prompts to optimize the quality and relevance of AI-generated outputs.
  • Explore and apply agentic AI systems, using or managing autonomous agents to streamline workflows and automate tasks.
  • Leverage AI tools to boost efficiency, creativity, and innovation in their daily work.
  • Stay curious and adaptable, continuously experimenting with AI-driven solutions to elevate team performance and customer impact.

Why Join PROS?

PROS culture and its extraordinary people are at the core of our success. We are passionate about what we do and relentless in delivering on our promises.

Our commitment to customer success inspires us to think smarter and dream bigger, empowering airlines to achieve more than they ever imagined through intelligent offer and revenue optimization.

At PROS, we foster a culture of care, where people feel supported to grow, innovate, and bring their best selves to work—every day. From flexible ways of working to continuous learning, we empower our teams to thrive both personally and professionally.

Join PROS, a dedicated travel technology company with nearly 40 years of proven airline expertise and a long runway for future growth, now powering the future of AI-driven airline retailing. If you want to be part of something exceptional, help us shape how airlines compete, innovate, and win.
