Pay Rate Low: 16 | Pay Rate High: 18
With a portfolio of over 200,000 analytical methods, our client is a global leader in product testing across food, environmental, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries as well as providing testing and laboratory services for genomics, discovery pharmacology, forensics, CDMO, and support clinical studies. They are currently looking for a Lab Technician to join their team! This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone looking to get into the life science industry!
Pay rate: $16/hr. -$18/hr.
Location: Ithaca, NY
Schedule: 8:45am - 5:30pm
Job type: 6-month contract - hire
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine laboratory, kitchen, or pilot plant procedures according to established protocols.
  • Conduct basic to moderately complex tests, analyses, and sample preparation.
  • Assist supervisors and project leaders with ongoing projects and operational activities.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain materials, samples, and equipment for experiments and production runs.
  • Accurately document procedures, results, and observations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide general support for daily lab, kitchen, or pilot plant operations as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or coursework in a scientific or technical field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory or technical procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to perform basic physical activities such as standing, lifting light materials, and handling equipment.
