American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for an entry level Production Engineer for our Jefferson City, MO location. This is an onsite plant based position. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineer.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Maintain & enforce product quality inspection and testing requirements.
โ€ข Optimize plant operations to meet plant and business goals in asset capability, quality, and budget/cost
โ€ข Identify areas of opportunity and implement changes in production methods for new and existing processes; facility layouts; production flow and equipment; new product testing; and packaging and shipping, in order to reduce cost, increase efficiency and improve quality
โ€ข Develop and drive initiatives aimed at improvements to productivity and first-pass yield
โ€ข Develop programs/methods to optimize producibility and reduce cycle time
โ€ข Quality Control experience with the ability to investigate non-conforming materials, in-process or finished goods failures and field returns and report on these areas
โ€ข Write non-conforming material reports, Process/Product change notification, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions
โ€ข Attain a full understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to translate them to implementation in the plant
โ€ข Lead operations' drive to zero (zero injuries and zero unplanned events)
โ€ข Lead and participate in Root Cause Investigations for unplanned events
Requirements
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
โ€ข New graduate or 1-2 years of engineering experience.
โ€ข Practical experience troubleshooting manufacturing problems and implementing sustainable corrective actions, combined with strong process orientation, and solid knowledge of manufacturing, including strong systems and component level experience.
โ€ข Strong communication and leadership skills required. Some supervisory or management experience a plus.
โ€ข A team player with the ability to interact effectively will all levels of organization.
