NorthStar Environmental Testing (NorthStar) is a leading provider of indoor air quality consulting and inspection services throughout Wisconsin and neighboring states. Our scope of services includes asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, radon and other industrial hygiene services to investigate and evaluate indoor air quality concerns before they become human health issues. Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site role for an Environmental Technician, based in Wisconsin. The Environmental Technician will support the assessment of environmental hazards, such as asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold. Responsibilities include traveling to and conducting environmental testing in the field, as well as documenting samples and results, and producing professional reports with findings and recommendations. This role requires accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and effective communication with team members and clients.

Primary responsibilities: Environmental site assessment to include field investigations for asbestos materials, lead-based paint, or mold depending on client needs. Sample collection and report preparation. Comfort with working independently and on construction sites. Ability to record field observations in a formal report. Ability to multi-task and work on numerous projects of various sizes and scope at once.

Qualifications: Willing to train the right candidate; however, the ideal candidate possesses: Continued education/post High School degree; Building construction experience or remediation/restoration experience; Strong written and verbal skills; Comfortable operating a computer and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CAD, and Adobe; Reliable transportation.   • Knowledge of Environmental Services, including asbestos, mold, lead-based paint evaluation, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in Remediation processes, including hands-on removal and mitigation of environmental hazards
  • Strong Communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and interact with clients
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in environmental settings
  • Prior experience or certifications in environmental technology, remediation or related fields is a plus.

Compensation: We provide competitive wages (commensurate with experience), applicable training, tools and expense/mileage reimbursement.

Location: While this listing is for Madison, WI, please note we have locations all over the state - including Mosinee, Neenah, Sheboygan, La Crosse, Wauwatosa, and we are growing everywhere! This position is not location-dependent, as long as you are near one of our offices and willing to travel for your role.
