Job Description

AECOM is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Transportation Civil Engineer with design experience to join our growing team in Hunt Valley, Maryland. In this role, you will contribute to meaningful transportation infrastructure projects that enhance mobility and improve communities across the region. You’ll continue to strengthen your technical and design skills while collaborating with experienced, industry‑leading professionals who are committed to mentorship, professional development, and long‑term career growth.

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.​
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with the approved budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of related civil engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior related intern and/or professional transportation design experience.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, PowerInRoads/Open Roads, and other relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in field assessments or site visits for civil engineering projects.
