Job description

Job Title: Custodian (Part Time)

Locations:  All Sunshine Village Sites- Chicopee, Agawam and Three Rivers (Palmer)

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and attentive janitor to join our team! This position will be responsible for keeping our buildings clean - helping us to SHINE!

Responsibilities: The Janitorial Technician will be expected to clean programmatic and office spaces within each of the organization's buildings and keep them maintained and in good condition to ensure the clean and safe operation of Sunshine Village.

This position will have primary responsibility for custodial services within the agency's buildings (deep cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms and floor care including stripping and waxing as well as on-going cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing and stocking restrooms, dusting and washing/cleaning windows and mirrors.)  Secondary duties include supporting other maintenance personnel with outdoor maintenance seasonally (shoveling snow and applying salt/sand to sidewalks and light landscaping.)  Other duties could include changing lightbulbs, moving furniture/boxes, notifying management of needed repairs and keeping buildings secure by locking doors and setting alarms.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

High School Diploma/ GED/or Equivalent

Valid Driver's License and use of personal vehicle is required to travel between sites

Candidates need proven experience working in a maintenance capacity in a congregate care, school/hospital or similar setting and need to be able to work with minimal supervision, possessing strong time management skills and attention to detail.  Familiarity with cleaning supplies and products and the ability to operate industrial equipment, including a high-speed buffing machine, will make for a successful candidate.

Candidates also need to be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds and have the ability to observe safety and security procedures.

Hours:  This is a full time 20-hour job.  Hours are 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Salary: We are offering a very competitive wage of $23.75 an hour and this position is eligible for bonus compensation.
