This position is for an entry level Materials and Process Engineering professional with proven capability of working independently and as an integral part of the Materials & Process Engineering team. Materials & Process Engineering is focused on providing product support across the product life cycle in support of engineering teams within Collins Aerospace. This role is onsite, in Rockford, Illinois. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

  • You will participate on multidisciplinary engineering teams as the non-metallic materials engineering representative.
  • You will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to validate hardware and/or process conformance to related specification requirements with an emphasis on non-metallic and elastomeric materials.
  • You will interpret specification requirements and communicate with Collins Operations sites and suppliers as required.
  • You will do project management and collaboration with engineering teams across Collins Aerospace to solve materials and process challenges.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will learn with training and skill development to support RRCA and process improvement activities.
  • You will have opportunities to collaborate with Materials & Process subject matter experts and technical fellows
  • You will learn to interpret and update aerospace material drawings and specifications.
  • You will receive training to operate and interpret results from state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation.
  • You will receive training to become a CORE Apprentice using the Collins CORE operating system methods and tools.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Aerospace materials and processes.
  • Experience with elastomers, polymers, and chemical regulations.
  • Experience in technical evaluations, communication, and reporting.
  • Six-Sigma certification (or equivalent) or root cause analysis experience.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
