Job description

As a FT Mechanic/Technician Apprentice, you will be trained and mentored in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all equipment used by the Company in the transportation of and handling of freight in a safe, efficient, timely, cost-effective, and practical manner. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, single and tandem axle diesel over-the-road and city tractors, diesel city straight trucks, propane and diesel-powered industrial forklifts, over-the-road and city trailer, Company vehicles and pick-up trucks, and various converter gear. Associates in this position are entry level employees working as an apprentice.

You will be trained and mentored in the following: Track completed and uncompleted work to maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedule and customer commitments; Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on the component parts and systems of trucks, tractors, converter gear, and forklifts; Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or other type of breakdown or potential failure; Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, cooling system test, brake adjustments, and tire inflation; Repair or rebuild all or part of a system of assigned equipment as needed. 

For this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Driver's License, and the ability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test. We would prefer you to have prior experience including Diesel Engine Repair, Automotive Diagnostics, Automotive Service, Welding, Fabrication, ASE Certification, or Diesel Engine Certification. However, those are not required. We have Apprentice roles so we can mentor and grow associates to perform the functions listed above. Pay: $28.73-$30.85 Per Hour (pay may vary based on location and experience)
