Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Small Engine Repair Instructor to deliver hands-on training in Small Engine Repair. The instructor will prepare students to diagnose, maintain, repair, and rebuild a variety of small engines and outdoor power equipment, equipping them with the skills needed for entry-level employment or to maintain their own equipment. Keep student records and adheres to course schedules.
This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus
Minimum and Additional Requirements
At least three (3) years of recent experience in small engine repair, outdoor power equipment service, or a related mechanical field.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience. Industry certifications related to small engine repair or outdoor power equipment. ASE, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, STIHL, ECHO, or other manufacturer certifications.
Additional Comments
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College's established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $40 per hour. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
Special Note for Applicants Residing Outside of South Carolina: If you are selected for a remote adjunct position with Midlands Technical College and do not reside in the State of South Carolina, your employment will be through , our employer of record partner supporting all remote out-of-state workforce requirements.
