The Energy Systems Analyst is responsible for assessing building mechanical and electrical systems while performing technical on site surveys and in office analysis on assigned projects. Analysis will include participation in technical studies, investigations and development of energy efficient and deferred maintenance scope on assigned projects.


  • Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications.
  • Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions either independently or with senior level staff/project manager. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient and deferred maintenance scope.
  • Assists in the performing of mechanical system calculations including load calculations, ventilation schedules, etc.
  • Interacts in meetings with internal company members as related to the project deliverables.
  • Reviews and analyzes the designs and prepared drawings for mechanical systems for projects including duct and pipe sizing with assistance from senior level staff.
  • Assists the development team in the coordination with other discipline including energy modeling, financial modeling, lighting, design, etc.
  • Attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
  • Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
  • Upholds the Company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four year ABET accredited university.
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude.
  • Required experience in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey.
  • Passion for quality and client satisfaction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Prefer 1-3 years of energy related client interface for an engineering design firm.
  • Preferred experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education field.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical design drawings.
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
  • Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities
Travel Requirements
  • 25-40% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
