EMI/EMC Test Technician

Overview

As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.

As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position conducts critical testing primarily for aerospace and defense customers, collaborates with other departments to solve complex problems and ensures timely and accurate test results.

Salary: $25- $45/hr DOE

Responsibilities
    Plans, conducts and reports data for testing performed per customer specifications
  • Operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
  • Interacts daily with customers and assists with department scheduling
  • Coordinates internal calibration of equipment
  • Constructs and maintains various test setups and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision
Skills / Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety
  • HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a testing related field
  • Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
  • Basic understanding of testing concepts
  • Possess computer skills
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
  • Working knowledge of RF stimulus and measurement
  • Military and/or radio equipment background preferred
  • General electrical knowledge, journeyman electrician a plus
  • Mathematical knowledge to include logarithmic expressions

Physical Demands:

  • Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
  • Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
