Job Description:

Are you an entry level engineer looking to start a career in Electronical Engineering within the semiconductor industry? Be a part of the New Product Development (NPD) team of the leading provider of smart, connected, and secure embedded control solutions company - Microchip. Here in the Technical Center, we develop you to be a world class Engineer. You will be part of a team that provides high value and cost-effective solutions and services to our worldwide engineering and manufacturing partners. You will learn how to develop embedded solutions to simplify silicon validation tasks and contribute to the success of the company.

Microchip's Analog & Mixed Signal Business unit (MSLD) is seeking a self-driven Si validation engineer responsible for the validation of high-performance Analog & Mixed Signal ICs. You will be part of a new product introduction group, directly impacting business growth by helping introduce new and innovative products to the market. As a member of a growing business unit, you will influence our product development strategy and help us develop our portfolio of products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with our NPD teams that includes architects, designers, applications, marketing, product, and test engineers to develop and execute Validation and Characterization plans for new ICs.
  • Identify, direct, develop, implement, and improve lab bench setups, including honing measurement methods and data analysis to support validation and characterization of new Si products.
  • Drive continuous improvement in validation capabilities, quality, and cycle time.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electronical or Computer Engineering
  • Knowledge of electronics and basic circuit design.
  • Must be familiar with schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment such as oscilloscope, multi-meters, logic analyzer, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills and the ability to proactively solve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and review design objective specifications and data sheets.
  • Good understanding of semiconductor device physics and processing.
  • Architectural knowledge of Op Amps, Voltage reference, Amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, Digi Pots, and Temperature Sensors is a plus.
