None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is seeking a Test Sustainment Engineer to support production test systems, equipment, and instrumentation used across our manufacturing operations. This is an entry-level, individual contributor position ideal for recent engineering graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a career in test engineering, manufacturing, automation, and equipment sustainment. As a Test Sustainment Engineer, you will work under the direction of the Test Sustainment Manager and alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production test systems, support manufacturing issues, maintain equipment reliability, and implement continuous improvements.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with production test systems, test software, instrumentation, troubleshooting, data analysis, and equipment sustainment. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills while progressively taking on greater ownership of factory test systems and sustainment activities. This position provides a strong foundation for building a long-term career in aerospace engineering and manufacturing.
This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Do:
- Support troubleshooting and recovery of production test systems, equipment, and instrumentation under the direction of the Test Sustainment Manager and experienced engineers.
- Assist with identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions for production-impacting test issues.
- Maintain test system documentation, configurations, backups, work instructions, and engineering records.
- Collect and analyze test-system data to identify recurring failures, downtime, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support test equipment upgrades, software changes, hardware replacements, and equipment obsolescence activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on test-system reliability, equipment performance, and factory capability.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, IT/OT, and other technical teams to resolve production test issues.
- Support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for recurring test-system problems.
- Assist with test equipment lifecycle activities, including configuration control, reliability improvements, upgrades, and sustainment.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to other manufacturing locations as required.
- Travel up to 25% to other manufacturing locations in Arizona, Connecticut, and Illinois to provide onsite technical support and assist with test system sustainment activities.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience.
- Prior internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience involving electronics, test engineering, manufacturing, automation, troubleshooting, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, or other instrumentation.
- Exposure to Keysight VEE, LabVIEW, TestStand, PLCs, programming, or automated test equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics, engineering drawings, troubleshooting techniques, or electronic systems.
