Job Description
The Teledyne LeCroy R&D Team is seeking an early-career Hardware/Electrical Engineer who is excited to learn, grow, and work hands-on with cutting-edge electronic design. In this role, you will gain experience across precision analog circuits, high-speed analog design, signal integrity, and advanced mixed-signal systems, all core technologies behind industry-leading test and measurement instruments.
This position is ideal for engineers who want to accelerate their technical development while making a real impact. You'll be involved in the full product development cycle: contributing to requirements, collaborating on architecture, designing and testing hardware, and supporting the launch of next-generation instrumentation. You'll work with state-of-the-art tools, learn from experienced engineers, and see your designs directly influence the direction of Teledyne LeCroy's future products.
If you're curious, motivated, and eager to build technology that pushes performance boundaries, this role offers the opportunity to grow rapidly and contribute meaningfully from day one.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop precision, high-speed, RF analog, and mixed-signal circuitry for next-generation probes and oscilloscope acquisition systems.
  • Prepare documentation to support product planning and system architecture.
  • Create schematics and oversee the layout of complex high-frequency PCBs, including ceramic and organic packages.
  • Design test fixtures and implement automated test routines to validate prototypes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-Marketing, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, and Manufacturing engineers-to transform concepts into market-ready products.
  • Provide ongoing support and review product modifications throughout their operational lifecycle.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 2+ years of electronic design experience, or
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with entry-level electronic design experience.

Core Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong logical thinking and rapid learning ability, with a genuine drive to expand knowledge.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of high-speed analog design, signal integrity, transmission lines, RF, and microwave principles.
  • Proficiency in analyzing circuits in both frequency and time domains.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to drive meetings, conduct design reviews, and create clear technical content (drawings, slides, graphs) to explain complex systems/data.
  • Broad knowledge of electronic design, including power supplies, microcontrollers, clocking, transistor-level design, and PCBA technologies.
  • Experience coordinating across multidisciplinary teams (Mechanical, Software, QA, Manufacturing).
  • Skilled in using test equipment such as digital oscilloscopes and network analyzers; familiar with calibration, automation, and SMD soldering.
  • Competence in design simulation and analysis using tools like Orcad, PSpice, Excel, Ansys, and MATLAB.
  • Ability to script in Python, VB, or similar languages for measurement automation and data analysis.
  • Capable of managing projects or subsystems with attention to schedule, cost, and material requirements.
  • Foundational understanding of digital signal processing theory.
