Job description

Entry Level Electrical Controls / Industrial Electrician

Midwest Press & Automation LLC (MPA) is a fast-paced, rapidly growing company servicing the metal forming industry.  We are looking for a full time Entry Level Electrical Controls / Industrial electrician.

This opportunity will consist of control print understanding, electrical box wiring and assembly, electrical circuit troubleshooting, and startups, both at MPA and at our customer’s facilities throughout the United States.  Previous experience with PLC, HMIs, programming, and AutoCAD is PLUS.

Will train for Wintriss press controls.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Assembly and wiring.

  • General preparation and organization to support automation engineering at MPA for development, testing and electrical system building processes


Experience Requirements:


  • Candidates having at least some experience in electrical wiring and reading schematics is a plus.

  • Previous automation installation experience with metal form assembly is strongly desired, but other automation/assembly installation experience will be considered a plus.

  • Panel building and installations. Terminating Data Lines.

  • Good with hands, be able to use power tools and learn to work with instructions.

  • Must be able to lift 35-50 lb.


Skills:


  • Will train in reading and understanding electrical and mechanical prints. Progressing in this position in the future will be using AutoCAD electric or Solid Works Electric Professional, existing knowledge is plus.

  • Markup prints and field modification for engineering updates.

  • Follow built systems to customer locations nationwide for installation, debug and launch therefore a good driving record is a must.

  • Candidates must be willing to travel 20-30% nationally, including on short notice, and weekends sometimes (rarely).

  • Customer focus and strong attention to detail.

  • Be part of a team and care for the team’s success and safety.


MPA will train for wiring and following NEC code. If applicant has desire for logic control, we will train for (PLC-HMI-Drives setups) and or programing changes based on engineering changes.

  • Wage range $23-$44 with shift premium
  • Additional $6 / hr. for outplant
  • Additional $12/hr. for overnight premium
  • $59.00 per diem for outplant more than 12/overnight work
  • $29.00 per diem for outplant less than 12 hours
