Job description

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an Entry-Level to Experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Supplier Quality Engineer
A strategic supplier quality engineer will greatly help manage and disposition Process Change Notifications and Deviations. It is a critical role and the catalyst to gathering cross functional teams together to resolve issues. It is a time sensitive role to mitigate the production downtime risk due to quality issues. It will greatly improve the morale of team via reducing the overload of work from others in this role.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to Investigate supplier and operational quality issues and ensure the issues to be well defined and communicated to the cross-functional team.
  • Assess the impact of the issues and work with cross-functional teams to liaison a path forward to disposition in order to mitigate production line downtime risk.
  • Manage the coordination and disposition of the nonconformance through Process Change Notifications or Deviations.
  • Help root cause analysis and provide fact & data-based information to concerned parties for problem solving.
  • Manage deviation and process change requests. Support NPI projects

Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
  • Applicable quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude through work experience or hobbies.
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
  • Must be a self-starter, good communication skills, able to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability and desire to work 3rd shift.

  • Understanding of quality systems/tools, including APQP process
  • Strengths in facilitation, documentation and leadership
  • Experience with GD&T and modeling software
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • Ability to convey topics at both a technical and high level effectively
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Welding, fabrication, sheetmetal, hydraulic, electrical and/or paint experience is a plus

Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000 - Commensurate with experience
